See how processing fees, SoundSeam plan fees, splits, the four-business-day hold, and Whop transfers affect a sale.
SoundSeam now uses Whop for checkout settlement and producer payouts. The important distinction is that a sale, a SoundSeam transfer, and a withdrawal from Whop are three separate events.
For each completed sale:
The platform fee follows the participant, not only the track owner. If a sale is split between collaborators, each participant's own plan determines the platform fee applied to that participant's share.
Upgrading later does not recalculate a completed sale. The plan in effect when the sale was allocated determines that sale's platform fee.
Payment processing is separate from the SoundSeam platform fee. It is the cost associated with processing the customer's payment through the checkout provider.
SoundSeam records the actual processing amount reported for the completed transaction. It can vary with the payment method, country, currency, and transaction details, so there is no single reliable percentage for every order.
Pro removes SoundSeam's platform fee; it does not remove third-party payment-processing costs.
SoundSeam first subtracts the payment-processing fee from the gross sale. The remaining distributable amount is divided according to the confirmed track splits. Each participant's applicable platform fee is then calculated against that participant's share.
Small rounding differences are handled in cents so the distributed total remains equal to the available amount.
New Whop payout obligations are held for four business days after the purchase completes. Saturdays and Sundays do not count toward that period.
During this time, the money appears under In settlement on Payouts. A completed customer payment can therefore appear in Sales before it becomes eligible for transfer to Whop.
The hold gives SoundSeam time to confirm payment state, collaborator obligations, refunds, reversals, and other adjustments before funds move.
Once the release time has passed, SoundSeam can transfer the eligible producer amount to Whop when:
After the transfer completes, manage the available balance and withdrawal method inside Whop. A fee or delivery time associated with withdrawing from Whop is separate from the original SoundSeam sale calculation and depends on the payout option Whop presents to you.
Open Sales, select a transaction, and read the summary in this order:
Then open Payouts to see whether that amount is still settling, ready for transfer, transferring, paid, failed, blocked, or adjusted.
The Sales total, In settlement balance, next payout amount, and Whop balance cover different stages of the money movement. They can also differ because of collaborator splits, refunds, disputes, corrections, or several sales reaching eligibility on different dates.
To reconcile a difference, start with one purchase ID and follow it from the Sales detail to its payout or adjustment entry.
